You’ve Got What You Need

A local hair stylist launched a new product and advertised it on Facebook. So, I visited her booth at a vendor show and I bought a huge bottle of the product, Whisper Whip. 

The owner explained the product could do it all. It was a shampoo, a co-wash, a leave in conditioner, and a moisturizer. I used it as a moisturizer. It was light, didn’t weigh my hair down, and left it feeling great. For years, Whisper Whip was in my rotation for wash days, styling days and every day. My hair is coily, has fine strands, is low porosity and prone to tangle. Because of this I do not wear my hair down. A wash n go hairstyle would mean a life sentence of detangling and I have neither patience nor the time.

It turns out I had what I needed all along. The product was good for everything. And so, it is with our faith walk. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We have everything we need to reach our God given goals and the courage to use our talents. Believe the creator when He tells us he is everything, El Shaddai. Are you just relying on God in one way? You may be missing out on His love in other areas of your life. Do you think a prosperous, abundant life is for others, but not for you? I thought wash n go styles were not for my hair type. My beliefs about my hair kept me from having a fabulous hairstyle. What beliefs about yourself are keeping you from having a fabulous life? Let God into those areas; he created you and knows what you can do.

5 Easy Steps To Breaking Habits

Hello,

I’m all about self-improvement and I have a few bad habits that I’d like to break such as going to bed without brushing me teeth that’s one of my lesser crimes 😉. It’s so easy to cozy up in bed buried under the covers.  I decided that I am going to create a new night time routine and set a nightly alarm on my phone to remind myself to adhere to the new routine.

 Dictionary.com defines habit as “an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary: the habit of looking both ways before crossing the street.”

Here’s a few tips to get started with having a healthier lifestyle and breaking a habit.

  1. Identify the habit
  2. Identity what caused the habit.
  3. Why does it needs to be changed?
  4. Create an alternative.
  5. Implement the change.

Let’s Experience Life Together

Like most women I love shopping and not just for clothes and shoes but for anything, all the way down to plumbing supplies. However, I’d rather shop online and pick up my items in the store to avoid crowds. I not a materialistic person I just like spending money without any restrictions. However, my reality is different from my free will to spend. I always feel like I don’t have enough money to travel as much as I’d like or to make major purchases without financing. I have one income that needs to stretch 17 different ways and it’s not a substantial income.

So I decided to create a budget by evaluating my needs vs my wants. We have to learn how to put down the sale items. Sales can be tricky because you think your saving but realistically, you’re probably spending money on things you don’t need at time. I’ve bought things over and over because they were one sale and then I’d forget about it and buy it again…you don’t forget to use things you need!

There are so many different budgeting tips out there including the bible so I’m not going to bore you with more. What I will say is create a budget and stick with and set a goal with the money your saving. Set a goal that allows you to experience something new and appears seem unobtainable based on your current finances. You’ll be surprised how much money you can to save for retirement or a trip out of the Bahamas by bringing lunch from home. Each time you overspend think about how you’re delaying an having a new EXPERIENCE! Don’t let your Starbucks routine or ordering dinner every night interrupt you truly living in abundance!
